Dealership Branding and Event Planning - Clarington Hyundai



Challenge:
This client approached Marketing Breakthroughs in late October of 2005 to develop the corporate branding for their new dealership which was slated to open in early January 2006.

The challenge was to create a new identity that would appeal to the Hyundai target market in Clarington: adults 22 – 39 years old. We also were asked to develop an ad campaign to generate awareness in the Clarington region and promote the dealership's grand opening.

Solution:
Marketing Breakthroughs designed an exciting, new two-sided business card for the Clarington Hyundai sales staff. These four-colour cards had a young, dynamic look and feel and featured full-colour pictures of the bestselling Hyundai vehicles.

Next, we designed a direct mail campaign that was dropped to thousands of homes in the region by Canada Post in early January 2006. This piece featured a double gate fold design and an exciting, provocative invitation to Clarington residents to attend the dealership's grand opening.

Then, our event planning team helped the owner prepare and market the grand opening celebrations. This included designing VIP invitations which were sent to over 150 guests during the first week of January.

The next element of the campaign was a series of announcement ads that ran in the Clarington community newspapers. We also produced a seven-foot tall, three-foot wide, showroom sign which was designed to welcome visitors and customers to the dealership.

Results:
Clarington Hyundai enjoyed one of the most successful grand openings in Canada for a Hyundai dealership. Since the opening, Clarington Hyundai has steadily increased its market share, sales performance and is quickly becoming one of the top Hyundai dealerships in the Greater Toronto Region.
