Sept. 14, 2009 - Marketing Breakthroughs
was happy to show its appreciation for military families any way it
could on Sept. 12. With the Canada Retirement Information
Centre (CRIC) inviting families from CFB Petawawa to join its
client appreciation BBQ at the Government Conference Centre, MB
helped organize the
event and a few staffers then went the extra mile to make the
afternoon even more special.
Caitlin Hines, Krystal Bevin,
and Casey O'Brien (below) gathered some face paint and got down
to work, dolling-up dozens of children with Canadian flags,
flowers, and Spider-Man masks. With a constant line-up for their
services, the trio stayed at work for most of the afternoon while
stilt-walkers passed and bands played.
The event featured speeches by local Mauril Bélanger and
John Baird, local Members of Parliament, as well as
Lieutenant-Colonel Keith Rudderham, Base Commander at CFB Petawawa.
There was a 'best dressed in red' contest, where attendees showed
off their 'Support Our Troops' outfits, and free boat tours
courtesy of Paul's Boat Lines-all this in addition to a delicious
free BBQ.
The sun beamed down on the event all afternoon, ensuring a
beautiful venue for the BBQ and boat rides. With its event-planning
skills and a little face-paint, MB staff went beyond the call of
duty to make this year's event truly special.
